This is a paperweight/plaque made from an actual spark plug that was pulled off of one of the very last piston airplanes in American Airlines' fleet. It appears to be made of resin with a blue bottom to make the inscription visible. The gold color inscription reads:"THE end of the spark plug era....100% Jet Fleet..... conversion of American Airlines' fleet to all jet power commemorating the end of the piston era and its contribution to air transportation is this spark plug from one of American's last piston airplanes...1966"The paperweight itself is triangular in shape, approximately 4" long, and is clear on all sides except the bottom. It is hard to get a proper picture because it acts almost like a prism and reflects the genuine spark plug that is sealed inside. There are minor scratches on the surface of the resin, nothing deep nor anything that deters from the look of the object. Not much more is known about this except it was given to an airplane mechanic who worked for American Airlines. It's a fascinating and fun piece of airplane memorabilia for an avid collector. Rare and unique!
