1998 Rare Find ~ Hand Blown Glass Penguin Figurine Paperweight Signed Youghiogheny '98 Perfect crystal-clear glass with delightful green eyes, a little tail, and little wings! 5" tall x 3.5" wing tip to wing tip. It has one tiny scratch on the bottom. See close up photo. Each piece is hand crafted and rolled individually. Youghiogheny Opalescent Glass Company in Connellsville, PA, was founded in 1976 by John W Triggs. They made beautiful paperweights and sculptures in the late 90s/early 2000s. Artist Tristan Triggs (son & present owner) who created this penguin started training at an early age. Their name comes from the nearby Youghiogheny River, a Native-American word meaning “ a stream flowing in a contrary direction ". Thank you for looking!
